James Holden

Biography

Exeter-born electronic musician and founder of the #Border Community# label, who began as a teenage trance prodigy with 'Horizons' (1999) and remixes for major pop acts. His albums 'The Idiots Are Winning' (2006) and 'The Inheritors' (2013) moved from melodic techno toward modular, improvisatory music, and with *The Animal Spirits* he leads a live band blending electronics, jazz and folk instrumentation. A self-taught software builder, he designs many of his own instruments.
