Biography
Jimmy Buffett (1946 to 2023) was an American singer-songwriter who turned tales of sailing, beaches and barrooms into a durable tropical rock catalogue. Raised in Alabama and launched from Nashville and Key West, he found his signature song with 'Margaritaville' in 1977. Backed for decades by the Coral Reefer Band, he released more than thirty albums, wrote bestselling books and lent his name to the #Margaritaville# restaurant chain. His fans, the Parrotheads, made his summer tours a fixture of American popular culture for half a century.
