Biography
English singer and electronic pioneer John Foxx, born Dennis Leigh in Chorley in 1948, first fronted *Ultravox!* on three albums before going solo. 'Metamatic' (1980), his stark debut of synthesisers, rhythm machines and detached vocals, helped define British synth-pop and electro. After three further 1980s albums and a decade away designing and teaching, he returned with ambient and collaborative work, including the 'Cathedral Oceans' series and later recordings with the Maths alongside synthesist *Benge*.
