Kofi Flexxx

Biography

Kofi Flexxx is a London based jazz collective convened and produced by *Shabaka Hutchings* for his #Native Rebel Recordings# label. Presented as a creative principle rather than a single artist, the project made its only album, 'Flowers in the Dark' (2023), from three days of collective improvisation, layering flutes, percussion, piano and strings under guest rappers and poets including *billy woods*, *E L U C I D* and *Anthony Joseph*. The result mixes spiritual jazz, Afro-jazz and jazz rap into a meditative, dub spacious sound.
