Biography
Liquid Liquid is a New York City dance-punk group formed in 1980, comprising vocalist Salvatore Principato, bassist Richard McGuire, drummer Scott Hartley and marimba player Dennis Young. Built almost entirely on percussion grooves drawn from funk, dub and punk, their three early-1980s EPs on #99 Records# culminated in 'Optimo' and its track 'Cavern', later replayed without permission for *Melle Mel's* 'White Lines (Don鈥檛 Don鈥檛 Do It)'. The group split in 1983 after the resulting legal battle and reformed with the same quartet in 2008.
