Biography
Little Walter (1930 to 1968), born Marion Walter Jacobs in Marksville, Louisiana, was the revolutionary king of amplified blues harmonica. In *Muddy Waters*' Chicago band and then as a #Checker Records# leader with hits like 'Juke' and 'My Babe', his cupped microphone and amplifier technique made the harmonica a lead instrument with the power and phrasing of a saxophone, shaping every blues harp player since.
