Biography
Los Prisioneros were a Chilean rock band from San Miguel, Santiago, formed in 1983 by Jorge González, Claudio Narea and Miguel Tapia. Fusing new wave, synth-pop and punk, and writing songs that confronted the Pinochet dictatorship, they became one of the most influential Spanish-language rock bands through 'La Voz de los ’80' (1984), 'Pateando Piedras' (1986) and 'Corazones' (1990). The original trio reunited in 2001, and the band ended in 2006 with 'Manzana' (2004) as its final album.
