Biography
Manatees were a sludge metal trio from Carlisle, Cumbria, formed in 2005 and made up of Alex Macarte (bass, vocals), Greg Wynne (guitar, vocals) and Paul Heron (drums). Across the albums 'The Forever Ending Jitter Quest of Slow Hand Chuckle Walker' (2006), 'Icarus, the Sunclimber' (2009) and 'Helvellyn' (2016), the band stretched doom and sludge riffs into long post rock structures, becoming one of the heaviest acts in the British underground of their era.
