Biography

Martyna Basta is a Kraków-based Polish composer working with field recordings, modulated voice, electronics, guitar and zither. Classically trained as a guitarist, she abandoned academia at eighteen for the synthesizer, debuting with 'Making Eye Contact with Solitude' on #Warm Winters Ltd.#. Her electroacoustic songs treat everyday sounds as capsules for memory, balancing lush atmosphere with a haunting, confessional intimacy. 'Slowly Forgetting, Barely Remembering' deepened that approach, and collaborations such as her work with *claire rousay* have placed her within an international circle of diaristic ambient musicians.
