- Born: 1986 in Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy
- Active: 1986–present
Biography
Italian black metal band formed in Alessandria in 1986 by Wildness Perversion, who remains its only constant member. Mortuary Drape pioneered an occult, melodic form of black metal on 'All the Witches Dance', 'Secret Sudaria' and 'Tolling 13 Knell', influencing the wider Italian scene. After many line-up changes and a long recording gap, the band returned with 'Spiritual Independence' in 2014 and 'Black Mirror' in 2023. Their music combines early black metal, classic heavy metal melody and ritual, esoteric themes drawn from necromancy and the dark arts.
