Biography
English singer and songwriter from Whitburn, South Tyneside, recognised for her rich, theatrical voice and prominent Geordie accent. Nadine Shah's five albums, made with producer *Ben Hillier*, move from the grief stricken 'Love Your Dum and Mad' through the political 'Holiday Destination', which was nominated for the Mercury Prize, to 'Filthy Underneath', a frank account of mental health crisis and recovery. Her writing blends post-punk, art rock and jazz inflected melody, and she is also an outspoken advocate on mental health and musicians' rights.
