Niño de Elche

Biography

Niño de Elche, born Francisco Contreras Molina in Elche, Spain in 1985, is a Spanish flamenco singer who has moved from traditional cantaor training into experimental territory. Albums such as 'Voces del extremo', 'Antología del cante flamenco heterodoxo' and 'Colombiana' combine cante with electronica, rock and poetry, while collaborations with *Los Planetas* and *C. Tangana* brought his heterodox approach to a wider audience. Now based largely in Seville's orbit, he also works across performance, film and literature.
