Biography
John Michael 'Ozzy' Osbourne (1948-2025) was an English singer who fronted Black Sabbath, pioneers of heavy metal, before a hugely successful solo career launched by 'Blizzard of Ozz' (1980). Nicknamed the Prince of Darkness, he was as famous for his battles with addiction and onstage excess as for songs like 'Crazy Train' and 'Mr. Crowley'. With his wife Sharon he founded the Ozzfest festival, and the MTV series 'The Osbournes' turned his family into reality-TV stars. He died in July 2025, shortly after Black Sabbath's farewell concert in Birmingham.
