French producer James Kent, whose Perturbator project defined darksynth with albums like 'Dangerous Days' (2014) and 'The Uncanny Valley' (2016). Raised in Paris by two music journalists, he moved from black metal guitar to retro-futurist electronics, broke through via the 'Hotline Miami' games, and later signed to #Nuclear Blast#. He expanded Perturbator into a full live band for 'Lustful Sacraments' (2021) while keeping its cyberpunk dread intact.
