Placebo

Placebo

Placebo is a British alternative rock band formed in London in 1994 by Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal. Known for their androgynous image and Molko's distinctive high-pitched vocals, the band rose to prominence with a sound that merged glam, punk, and gothic rock. Their 1996 self-titled debut, released on #Hut Recordings#, captured the era's angst, but it was 1998's platinum-selling "Without You I'm Nothing" that brought international fame, including a notable single version of the title track featuring *David Bowie*. Subsequent albums like "Black Market Music" and "Meds" solidified their status as mainstays of alternative rock with a devoted global following.
