Biography
The Reatards were Jay Reatard's first notable band, a Memphis garage punk outfit that grew from his teenage bedroom recordings into a raw, high-energy live band. Released by #Goner Records# and #Empty Records#, their studio albums 'Teenage Hate' (1998), 'Grown Up, Fucked Up' (1999) and 'Not Fucked Enough' (2005) remain landmarks of lo-fi punk: all howl, hooks and blown-out guitars, and the foundation of Jay Reatard's later reputation.
