Biography
Recoil is the solo project of English musician and producer Alan Wilder, formerly of *Depeche Mode*. Started in 1986 as an experimental outlet for his sampling and sound-design work, it became his primary focus after he left Depeche Mode in 1995. Albums such as 'Bloodline', 'Unsound Methods', 'Liquid' and 'subHuman', released on #Mute Records#, pair dark electronic soundscapes with guest vocalists, blues and gospel elements and spoken word, and are far removed from the pop structures of his former band.
