Biography

Richard Wright was an English keyboardist, vocalist, and songwriter, best known as a founding member of Pink Floyd. His jazz-influenced and richly textured keyboard layers were a fundamental component of the band's atmospheric and psychedelic sound. Wright's contributions were crucial to classic albums like 'The Dark Side of the Moon' and 'Wish You Were Here', where his compositional skills and distinctive harmonies helped define the group's iconic sonic landscapes. Though often the quietest member, his understated musicality and occasional lead vocals were indispensable to the band's identity. He also released two solo albums, 'Wet Dream' and 'Broken China', and formed the short-lived electronic duo Zee.
