Biography
Rufus Wainwright is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter, son of *Loudon Wainwright III* and *Kate McGarrigle*. Albums such as 'Poses' (2001) and 'Want One' (2003) built his reputation for lush, piano-led songwriting, and his recreation of *Judy Garland*'s Carnegie Hall concert showed its theatrical reach. He has also composed the opera 'Prima Donna' (2009) and set Shakespeare's sonnets on 'Take All My Loves' (2016), working across pop, cabaret and classical music while remaining unmistakably a songwriter first.
