Biography
Sandy Bull (1941-2001) was an American guitarist, banjo player and oud player from New York City. His #Vanguard# albums 'Fantasias for Guitar and Banjo' and 'Inventions' fused folk revival picking with jazz, classical, Indian and Middle Eastern music, using early overdubbing to accompany himself. A forerunner of psychedelic folk and world music, he withdrew in the 1970s, returned in the late 1980s, and died in Tennessee in 2001.
