Biography
Screeching Weasel are an American punk rock band formed in Prospect Heights, Illinois, in 1986 by Ben Weasel and John Jughead. Albums such as 'My Brain Hurts' (1991), 'Wiggle' (1993) and 'Bark Like a Dog' (1996) made them a lasting influence on pop punk despite no mainstream breakthrough. Weasel is the only constant member across repeated breakups and re-formations. The band remains active, releasing 'Some Freaks of Atavism' in 2020 and 'The Awful Disclosures of Screeching Weasel' in 2022, and returning to live performance in 2025.
