Biography
Sentenced was a Finnish band formed in Muhos in 1989 by Miika Tenkula, Sami Lopakka and Vesa Ranta. They began as a death metal act on 'Shadows of the Past', turned melodic with singer and bassist Taneli Jarva on 'Amok', then reinvented themselves as a gothic metal band after Ville Laihiala became vocalist in 1996. Albums such as 'Crimson' and 'The Cold White Light' made them chart toppers in Finland before they disbanded in 2005 after a planned final album, 'The Funeral Album'.
