Biography
Silkworm are an American indie rock band formed in Missoula, Montana, in 1987 by Tim Midyett, Andy Cohen and Joel R.L. Phelps. Joined in Seattle by drummer Michael Dahlquist, the quartet recorded abrasive, bass-led albums including 'In the West', 'Libertine' and 'Firewater', mostly with engineer *Steve Albini*. Phelps left in 1994, and the remaining trio continued until Dahlquist's death in a 2005 car crash ended the band. Cohen, Midyett and Phelps reunited in 2024, with Jeff Panall drumming, and have since resumed touring.
