Biography
Skyclad is a Newcastle folk metal band formed in 1990 by vocalist Martin Walkyier and guitarist Steve Ramsey, widely credited with inventing folk metal by marrying thrash, British folk and pagan, pun laden lyrics. Early albums such as 'Wayward Sons of Mother Earth' and 'Prince of the Poverty Line' defined the style. After Walkyier left in 2001, guitarist Kevin Ridley became singer, and the band has continued through 'A Semblance of Normality' to 'Forward into the Past'.
