Biography
Chicago alternative country pioneers formed in 1986 around Chris Grigoroff and Joe Adducci. Souled American released four albums on #Rough Trade Records#, including 'Fe' and 'Flubber', helping to define alt country before the term existed. Reduced to a duo, they made the radically slow 'Frozen' and 'Notes Campfire' in the 1990s, then stayed out of print for decades until a 2025 anthology and a reunion album, 'Sanctions', announced for 2026.
