Biography
Subtle was an Oakland sextet led by Adam 'Doseone' Drucker and Jeffrey 'Jel' Logan, completed by Dax Pierson, Jordan Dalrymple, Marty Dowers and Alexander Kort. Formed in 2001, the group fused alternative hip-hop with indie rock, electronica and chamber-like arrangements of cello and woodwinds. Its three albums, 'A New White', 'For Hero: For Fool' and 'ExitingARM', tell the linked story of the character Hour Hero Yes. The band stopped after 2008, having built one of the strangest catalogues in underground rap.
