Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo consisting of brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin. Their distinct sound is built on a blend of downtempo electronic production, analog synthesizers, manipulated tape recordings, and textures derived from 1970s media. The music evokes strong themes of childhood memory, nature, science, and nostalgia, creating a characteristic style that presaged the hauntology movement.
