Biography
Terry Callier was an American singer-songwriter and guitarist whose work blended folk, jazz, and soul. A childhood friend of *Curtis Mayfield*, he began recording in the 1960s, releasing his debut album 'The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier' in 1968. His 1970s albums for #Cadet# Records, including 'Occasional Rain' and 'What Color Is Love', are critically lauded but were not commercially successful at the time. After a long hiatus from music to work as a computer programmer, he was rediscovered by UK DJs in the 1990s. This led to a celebrated comeback, new albums like 'Timepeace', and collaborations with artists such as *Beth Orton* and *Massive Attack*.
