Biography
The Crystals are a Brooklyn girl group formed in 1960 and defined by their records for Phil Spector's #Philles Records#. The original quintet — Barbara Alston, Dee Dee Kenniebrew, Mary Thomas, Myrna Giraud and Patsy Wright — hit with 'There's No Other (Like My Baby)' and 'Uptown' before LaLa Brooks took over as lead singer for 'Da Doo Ron Ron' and 'Then He Kissed Me'. Their records helped define the Wall of Sound, and Kenniebrew, the sole ever-present member, has kept the Crystals performing as a trio into the present day.
