The Funkees
- Type: Band/Group
- Country: Nigeria
Biography
Nigerian Afro-rock band of the early 1970s, formed around guitarist and singer Harry Mosco. The Funkees blended highlife, funk, soul and psychedelic rock on 'Point of No Return' and the London-recorded 'Now I'm a Man'. Briefly based in Britain, they split later in the 1970s, and their records are now prized documents of Nigeria's post-war rock scene. Their singles circulated widely in West Africa during the band's lifetime.
