Biography
The Human League is an English synth-pop band formed in Sheffield in 1977, the only act to survive from the city's first electronic scene to mainstream pop stardom. Founded by Martyn Ware, Ian Craig Marsh and Philip Oakey, the band was rebuilt by Oakey with Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley after the founders left in 1980. 'Dare' (1981) and 'Don't You Want Me' defined 1980s pop, and the trio of Oakey, Catherall and Sulley still fronts the band, most recently on record with 'Credo' (2011).
