Biography
The Surfaris are the Glendora, California surf band formed in 1962 by Ron Wilson, Jim Fuller, Bob Berryhill and Pat Connolly, with saxophonist Jim Pash joining soon after. Their 1963 single paired 'Surfer Joe' with the improvised B side 'Wipe Out', whose drum solo and cackling introduction made it the signature surf instrumental and a number two national hit. The original band split in 1966; Bob Berryhill's Surfaris still performs.
