Biography
The Teardrop Explodes were a Liverpool post-punk band formed in 1978 around Julian Cope and Gary Dwyer. A key group in the city's neo-psychedelic revival, they signed to #Zoo Records#, scored a British top ten single with 'Reward', and released 'Kilimanjaro' in 1980 and 'Wilder' in 1981. David Balfe's keyboards shaped both albums. The band split in 1982, and Cope continued solo.
