Tori Amos is an American singer-songwriter and pianist known for her intricate, piano-led alternative rock and emotionally raw lyrics. A classically trained prodigy, she broke from formal training to develop her unique style, first fronting the short-lived synth-pop band Y Kant Tori Read. She achieved international fame with her 1992 solo debut, 'Little Earthquakes', on the #Atlantic# label. This album, along with successors like 'Under the Pink' and 'Boys for Pele', established her as a pivotal and unflinchingly honest artist of the 1990s, blending complex musicality with themes of feminism, religion, and personal trauma into a celebrated and enduring career.
