ULTHA is a German band from Cologne that blends atmospheric black metal with elements of funeral doom, darkwave, and ambient soundscapes. Formed in 2014, the five-piece became known for their long, hypnotic compositions and intensely emotional live performances. Their sound, often compared to American black metal acts like *Wolves In The Throne Room*, is characterized by sprawling song structures and a focus on creating a bleak, overwhelming atmosphere. After releasing acclaimed albums like 'Converging Sins' and 'The Inextricable Wandering' on labels such as #Vendetta Records# and #Century Media Records#, the band nearly split in 2019 before returning with new material.
