Biography
Utopia was *Todd Rundgren*'s named band, formed in New York in 1973, first as a large progressive rock ensemble behind 'Todd Rundgren's Utopia' (1974) and then as the durable quartet of Rundgren, keyboardist Roger Powell, drummer John Wilcox and bassist Kasim Sulton. That line-up made 'Ra', 'Adventures in Utopia', 'Deface the Music', 'Oblivion' and 'POV', moving from prog epics to sharp new wave pop, all sung and played by the four members. The band ended in 1986 after nine studio albums, reuniting occasionally for tours.
