Biography
Whodini is the Brooklyn trio of Jalil Hutchins, John 'Ecstasy' Fletcher and DJ Drew 'Grandmaster Dee' Carter, formed in 1981 and signed to #Jive Records#. Their melodic, synth driven rap produced the platinum album 'Escape' and standards such as 'Friends' and 'Freaks Come Out at Night', making them one of the first hip hop acts to hold a national audience. Later albums ran to 'Six' in 1996, and the group continued touring until Fletcher's death in 2020.
