Woods of Desolation is the one-man atmospheric black metal project of Australian musician D., formed in Wollongong in 2005. Its albums 'Toward the Depths' (2008), 'Torn Beyond Reason' (2011), 'As the Stars' (2014) and 'The Falling Tide' (2022) layer melancholic, nature-haunted guitars over solitary themes. Session players are guests, not members, and the entry is reclassified from band to solo project.
