Album Notes & Community Reviews
This crucial compilation gathers several of Augustus Pablo's finest self-produced singles recorded throughout the 1970s for his own Rockers imprint. The collection showcases his pioneering use of the melodica鈥攁n instrument previously considered a child's toy鈥攁s a serious, deeply emotive lead instrument floating over King Tubby's cavernous dub rhythms. It remains a mesmerizing, foundational masterpiece of instrumental roots reggae.
