Album Notes & Community Reviews

Acting as the definitive document of the short-lived Seattle group, 'Crippled Lucifer' compiles their two impossibly heavy, glacial 1998 EPs, 'Towers...' and 'Rift.Canyon.Dreams'. The band utilized agonizingly slow tempos, massive drone-laden distortion, and horrifyingly shrieked vocals to create a suffocating, apocalyptic atmosphere. The compilation is considered foundational to the evolution of modern drone and funeral doom, launching the careers of several key figures in the Southern Lord label roster.
