Album Notes & Community Reviews

Intended to be the closest possible realization of Hendrix's planned but unfinished fourth studio double album, this posthumous compilation was meticulously assembled by original engineer Eddie Kramer. The tracks showcase a genius moving away from the power-trio psych-rock of the Experience, integrating much heavier elements of deeply rhythmic funk and soul. The collection stands as a tantalizing, brilliant glimpse into the expansive sonic directions he was exploring right before his tragic death.
