Compiling the entirety of Leyland Kirby's harrowing six-stage project, 'Everywhere at the End of Time' musically simulates the devastating progression of dementia. Using looped, heavily manipulated samples of 1920s ballroom jazz and pop, the music gradually deteriorates from warm nostalgia into horrifying, unrecognizable walls of static and drone. It is widely considered one of the most ambitious, emotionally taxing, and existentially terrifying ambient works of the 21st century.
