Album Notes & Community Reviews
This pivotal ethnographic release documented the deeply complex traditional music of Bali in unprecedented fidelity for Western listeners. It prominently features the mesmerizing, interlocking polyrhythms of a full Gamelan orchestra on one side, contrasted by the intense, massed vocal chanting of a ritualistic 'Kecak' monkey dance on the other.
