Album Notes & Community Reviews

Collects impossibly obscure, private-press hard rock and heavy psych from 1970s America. The bands featured heavily leaned into the aesthetics of Tolkien fantasy, occultism, and Dungeons & Dragons, delivering proto-metal riffs and apocalyptic lyricism from deep within basements and high school gymnasiums. The compilation beautifully archives the nerdy, doom-laden infancy of American heavy metal.
