Completely abandoning hardcore punk structures and Henry Rollins' vocal presence, Greg Ginn guides the rhythm section through an entirely instrumental collection of dense, free-jazz inspired improvisation. The extended, atonal tracks operate heavily on deeply paranoid, jagged basslines and erratic guitar solos that intentionally test the patience of traditional punk fans. The divisive release highlighted Ginn's increasingly uncompromising, avant-garde artistic trajectory toward the end of the band's original run.
