This foundational drone metal release established Dylan Carlson's signature slow-motion, amplifier-worship aesthetic. Co-produced by Kurt Cobain (who also provides guest vocals on the track 'A Bureaucratic Desire for Extra-Capsular Extraction'), the record relies on crushing repetition and maximal volume to build a suffocating, tectonic sonic landscape. It served as the genesis point for the modern extreme doom movement.
