Album Notes & Community Reviews

Supported by uniquely sparse musical backing from producer Martin Hannett, this debut release properly introduced the rapid-fire, observational wit of the quintessential 'punk poet' of Salford. The manic vocal cadence and surrealistic depictions of urban decay perfectly articulated the grim reality of Northern England alongside the era's loudest guitar bands.
