This Is Your Bloody Valentine
by My Bloody Valentine
Recorded shortly after their relocation from Dublin to Berlin, this debut release predates nearly all of the band's trademark shoegaze aesthetics. Showcasing original vocalist David Conway, the sound leans heavily into frantic, Cramps-influenced psychobilly and gloomy post-punk posturing. While largely disowned by Kevin Shields later in their career, it remains a fascinating historical anomaly within their revered discography.
