Album Notes & Community Reviews

Written entirely by vocalist Layne Staley, 'Angry Chair' is a dark and claustrophobic single from their second studio album, 'Dirt'. The track features a repetitive, heavy guitar riff and a haunting, military-like percussion groove that reflects themes of drug addiction, self-hatred, and isolation. It stands as an uncompromising, visceral document of Staley's battle with opioids, delivering a somber and deeply disturbing gothic grunge atmosphere.
