Halcyon / The Naked and the Dub

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Dedicated to the producers' mother, who had successfully combated a long-term addiction to the tranquilizer Halcion, this track is a masterpiece of deeply emotive ambient house music. The composition revolves around an ethereal, reverse-played vocal sample lifted from Kirsty MacColl, creating a profoundly beautiful, hypnotic loop. It became an essential fixture of early 90s chill-out rooms and helped elevate dance music to a higher artistic regard.
